Mar 5 - Goodbye Cape Town

South Africa has been a remarkable start to our trip. Spending time with Lungi’s family and getting married (again) in a traditional African wedding has given us the opportunity to see this country in a way that we would never be able to as regular tourists. We’ve had the opportunity to meet, spend time and hear the views and opinions of different people from various backgrounds. The one thing that will stay with us the most is the kindness of the people living in the townships. They have nothing yet want to give so much. And regardless of the fact that they live in one room shacks with no toilets and little water, their pride is stronger than anything we’ve ever seen in North America. We’re so grateful to have had the opportunity of spending as much time as we did in the townships, making new friends and meeting new family.
We realized that we have been here for 2 weeks without posting any pictures of Lungi’s family so we’ll introduce them to you now.
Sita - Lungi's Grandmother
Vuiswa - Lungi's Aunt

Lungi's Aunt, Nikky

Me and Themba

Elie and Lungi's uncle, Mzwandele

Lungi's cousin, Khanyo

Lungi's cousin, Nolutendo (and her son)

We're missing pictures of 2 other cousins, Mpilo and Bongo.
