Zambia is a beautiful country with incredible wildlife. Animals roam free in the game parks which are basically situated right next to the town. We took a sunset cruise down the Zambezi River last night looking for wildlife along the shores. Jacob and I got the only seats on the roof of the boat and it was one of the most romantic things I’ve ever experienced. We got pretty lucky and were able to see crocodiles, monkeys, hippos, some type of deer and at least 50 different types of colourful birds.

We woke up this morning at 6 am to take a walking tour with lions. The lions are bread by humans and then released into the wild however they are used to having humans around so they don’t mind us walking next to them. It was so cool to be able to touch the lions and see them play together. We even got to see the lions chasing monkeys into the trees.
After leaving the lions there were 2 road blocks that delayed our return home. The first was a family of elephants crossing the road and the second was a White Rhino, also crossing the road. There’s actually a guard who’s paid to follow the Rhino in its natural habitat, armed with an AK-47, to ensure that poachers do not kill it.
It’s amazing how much wildlife you can see just by walking down the road. So far we’ve seen baboons, great white sharks, seals, camels, penguins, elk, zebra, monkeys, hippos, elephants, ostrich, rhino, crocodiles, a ton of birds and a lot of bugs. The only thing I need to see before leaving Africa is a giraffe.
Fabulous photos! So glad you are having an exciting - and romantic - time! Keep safe!
